* Christmas-alone
Slang USED On Very Rare Occasion BY some people
(n.) It's a blend of クリスマス (kurisumasu "Christmas") and ひとりぼっち (hitoribocchi "alone"). In Japan, Christmas Eve and Christmas in general is a time for couples to have a romantic date, not a family holiday. So, being alone or single on those days can be rather miserable. Some people make a frantic effort to find a partner to avoid being alone.
"クリぼっちにならないため、田中さんは必死で恋人を探している。"
Tanaka-san is desperately trying to find a partner to avoid becoming kuri-bocchi.
