When someone is staring at something or at someone who said something and is either confused or doesn’t understand it. It is used to refer to other people and not at oneself. it's said in a joking way usually and people laugh about it. Rarely is it used passive-aggressively.

-“Why Are you staring like a calf at a colorful door?” -“I don't know, I don't really get what you said.”
